Touch the Mountains is a vibrant and free music festival that takes place annually in the stunning setting of Interlaken, Switzerland. Celebrating its 20th anniversary on January 1, 2025, this open-air event promises an unforgettable start to the New Year with a lineup featuring some of Switzerland’s most beloved artists. First Touch the Lake, New Year’s Swim, then Touch the Mountains
For a refreshing start of the new year head towards the Neuhaus area at the lake of Thun for the annual new year’s swim. This lake dipping to mark the start of a refreshing new year is also known under the name of Dip, Duck & Dive as new year’s swimmers are encouraged to bring their favourte rubber duck (or other floatables). Free soup is provided and people are encouraged to bring some drinks to toast collectively to the new year.

Touch the Mountains New Years’ day Music Festival
After the new year’s swim it is time for the touch the mountains music festival which annually draws a crowd of 30000 people due to its fun nature, free access and famous line-up. The festival traditionally starts at 2pm with three famous Swiss acts playing in succession at respectively 2pm, 4pm and 6pm. The festival always concludes with a huge fireworks display after the last act finished at 7:45pm.
