Orbit Interlaken is set to become a magnificent addition to Interlaken’s thriving outdoor adventure scene. It is slated to be a new bouldering and climbing gym located on the former airfield in Wilderswil, Switzerland . The facility will be part of a larger complex that will also include a freestyle hall (Pända Freestyle) for skateboarding and 1000 square meters of trampolining, the new headquarters of Outdoor Interlaken, an electrical installation company and the local Postbus tranportation company. There will also be a cafe, bistro and bar on-site to mingle and replenish your spent calories with fellow outdoor adventure enthusiasts. The project is lead by Nicole Steck, wife of the deceased legendary mountaineer Ueli Steck. This is surely something you will need to add to your list of things to do in Switzerland in the near future…
Orbit Interlaken: Indoor Climbing & Bouldering
With Orbit Interlaken we want to create a space in the Interlaken region in which the various facets of bouldering and climbing can be experienced. The aim is to create a modern infrastructure in which beginners can discover these great sports and advanced people can train at every level. But also a place where you meet, drink a coffee or a beer together and make plans. A place where competitions and events can take place. We believe in the further development of our sports and want to help shape them in our region.
-Nicole Steck,
The opening of Orbit Wilderswil is expected sometime in winter 2024/2025. The new climbing gym is designed to be a place for people of all skill levels to enjoy bouldering and climbing. It will also be a place to socialize, have a drink, and plan outdoor adventures.
Pända Freestyle: Trampoline & Skate Park
A new building complex is being built on the Wilderswil airfield. The Pända Freestyle part of this new outdoor adventure complex will be an extensive range of trampolines on around 1000m2. From beginners to athletes, everyone will get their money’s worth. A small skateboard and BMX area is also planned. From a comfortable viewing area, you can watch the various activities. Expected opening is early 2025.
As both of these ventures are indoor they promise to become a fantastic addition to the bad weather activities on offer in adventurous Interlaken.
Stay tuned for more as this is going to be epic…
